Hong Kong – A Vibrant Destination

Hong Kong is a Special Administrative Region of China but, according to one country two systems, Hong Kong has a different political system from mainland China. Hong Kong is also a much broad and open society than conservative China. The region is a city – state and is home to diverse cultures varying from Vancouver to Vietnam and  as such proudly boasts itself to be Asia’s world city.

The Cantonese meaning of the word Hong Kong is fragrant harbor, which could be referring to the incense from factories lining the coast before the development of the Victoria Harbour or to the harbour’s sweetened water by the fresh water estuarine influx of the Pearl River. Hong Kong widely renowned for its expansive skyline and deep natural harbor also serves as a base for tourists willing to explore the Oriental region. Hong Kong is one of the most prosperous regions in Southeast Asia and is one of the leading International financial centers of the world.

For recreation there is a plethora of options to explore in Hong Kong, from sightseeing, shopping to setting upon a culinary adventure.
